Goal setting

Turn “swim faster” into a target a swimmer can actually chase.

Put a clear finish line next to the swimmer's current best, so the goal feels specific, measurable and connected to the work being done in training.

  • Set the right target for the race.Choose the event and course, then define the time the swimmer is working towards.
  • Keep the starting point and finish line together. The current PB sits alongside the goal, making the improvement required easy to understand.
  • Make the gap visible.Swimmers can see how close they are getting instead of waiting until the end of the season to know whether progress is happening.
  • Keep coaches part of the process.Coaches can support or set targets with swimmers, while each new season can start fresh without losing the swimmer's long-term race history.
